1. First Annual Premier Award for Hospital Medication Safety, $25,000; won national competition, as decided by board members of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, among 65 entries from Premier’s 2,000 hospitals, December 2001.  (This was the biggest award in the field at the time.)

2. City Excellence Award, presented by Thomas Menino, Mayor of Boston, for facilitative leadership of the team of community and police leaders in the Strategic Planning and Community Mobilization Project, 1996.

3. Liberty Mutual Customer Service Award for the interdisciplinary Project ASSERT team that reduced alcohol and substance abuse by Emergency Department patients of Boston City Hospital, ca. 1995.

4. Finalist in national competition sponsored by Coopers  Lybrand/MIT Sloan School of Management for manuscript on the effects of total quality management on a health maintenance organization's revenue, ca. 1994.
